ABOUT SANCTUARY

Sanctuary Mental Heath Ministries is on a mission to equip 20% of U.S. churches with The Sanctuary Course by 2026. To date, over 250,000 people in over 70 countries have participated in the course. We want to take our mental health and faith resources to more people in more places. But to do so, we need your support.

The mental health landscape in the U.S. and how Sanctuary can meet the need:

  • One in five Americans (fifty-seven million people) will experience a mental health challenge by the age of 40.
  • 49,449 Americans died by suicide in 2022
  • 10% of high school school students attempted suicide in 2021
  • 27% of U.S. teens expressed mental health as their greatest concern
  • 25% of of those who seek mental health care report turning to clergy [1]
  • The Church must be equipped to support mental health and wellbeing in order to better serve the body of Christ
Over the past twelve years we have built a global team, launched a robust set of resources, and translated some of our resources into multiple languages for accessibility. Since 2018, more than 50% of the users of The Sanctuary Course have been based in the United States.

We envision a future where the Church plays a vital role in supporting mental health and wellbeing in every community. We’re looking for supporters who want to join us in taking Sanctuary across the United States.

HOW CAN I BE PART OF THE MISSION?

We are raising funds to bring mental health and faith resources to churches across the U.S.

Our work provides a complimentary suite of resources to the Church across denominations at no cost to the church or community. The Capital Campaign will equip the U.S. base of Sanctuary Mental Health Ministries which is a formally recognized U.S. 501(c)3 organization.
