THE SANCTUARY U.S. LAUNCH
Sanctuary Mental Heath Ministries is on a mission to equip 20% of U.S. churches with The Sanctuary Course by 2026. To date, over 250,000 people in over 70 countries have participated in the course. We want to take our mental health and faith resources to more people in more places. But to do so, we need your support.
Why does the U.S. need Sanctuary?
- One in five Americans (fifty-seven million people) will experience a mental health challenge by the age of 40.
- 49,449 Americans died by suicide in 2022
- 25% of of those who seek mental health care report turning to clergy [1]
- The Church must be equipped to support mental health and wellbeing in order to better serve the body of Christ

Sanctuary Mental Health Ministries is a Christian non-profit that equips the Church to support mental health and wellbeing. Sanctuary envisions a future where the Church plays a vital role in supporting mental health and wellbeing in every community. We provide resources that meaningfully engage the topics of faith and mental health. Our content is developed in collaboration with theologians, psychologists, and people with lived experience of mental health challenges. These resources prepare communities of faith around the world to raise awareness, reduce stigma, support mental health, and promote mental wellbeing. Learn more about us!

We’re working with the team behind the Alpha Canada user experience to develop a robust, frictionless course and program platform, where people can easily access Sanctuary’s ecosystem of resources and programming.
To make our website as user-friendly as possible, we used user feedback and the results of our customer journey mapping to create a new accessible, seamless, and intuitive website.
We redeveloped our flagship resource, The Sanctuary Course, with updated content. We’re also developing new resources to reach other audiences, including Spanish and other translations as well as youth and community development resources.
